One connected project
Design basis, components, block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams live in one project file, so a change in one place is visible everywhere.
Features
Capabilities of the current early-access platform, grouped by how engineering work progresses.
01 / Project foundation
Components, thermodynamics, utilities and revisions live in one project, so later steps start from the same data.
Design basis, components, block flow diagrams, process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams live in one project file, so a change in one place is visible everywhere.
Maintain the components for the project, with molecular weights used by the balance.
Choose the property package and mixing rule for the project. Package suitability depends on your system; you remain responsible for that choice.
Define utilities such as cooling water with supply and return temperatures and stream codes.
Project structure includes revision control and calculation freshness records, so results can be tied to the inputs they came from.
02 / Diagrams and balance
Block and process flow diagrams and the material balance work from the same streams and equipment.
Draw process blocks such as mixers, reactors and splitters, and connect them with numbered streams that carry phase, flow, temperature and pressure.
Place pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, mixers, condensers and splitters, and route the lines between them.
Run the material balance from the block flow diagram and see mass flows on each stream, with a status showing whether the results are current.
03 / Engineering development
Piping classes, equipment drawings, layout and the wider module bar build on everything defined before.
Piping class tables with rating, material and schedule by size. Reference defaults are labelled as such and need project review.
Generate equipment drawing sheets, such as a packed column, from the equipment data.
Set out a plot with floors and racks to plan how the plant sits on site.
The workspace also has modules for energy, equipment sizing, PDS, equipment sketches, commissioning, a stream data editor, a PFD line list, a run report, DEXPI and isometrics.
